Dear Staff and Students

My name is Jerome Thokozani Mkhize. I am a Ph.D. student at the College of Law and Management Studies in the School of Management, Information Technology, and Governance at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). 

You are invited to consider consenting to participate in research on the assessment of the implementation of disability strategies in selected Namibian, South African, and Zimbabwean Universities. 

Aim of the study:

The study seeks to explore how Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) implement disability policies to accommodate differently-abled students (DAS), conventionally known as students with disabilities. 

Ethical Clearance for this study has been granted by UKZN as per Protocol Reference number HSSREC/00004799/2022 as attached to this email. This study is supervised by Professor S. Mutereko and Co-supervised by Professor F.A. Ruffin in the School of Management, Information Technology, and Governance at the UKZN, Westville Campus.

Participation in this study involves: 

-The completion of a 16-minute questionnaire

-Semi-structured interview that will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes
