PhD study: A Comparative Assessment on the Implementation of Disability Strategies in the Southern African Universities

My name is Jerome Thokozani Mkhize. I am a Ph.D.
student at the College of Law and Management Studies in the School of
Management, Information Technology, and Governance at the University of
KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN).
You are invited to consider consenting to
participate in research on the assessment of theimplementationofdisabilitystrategies in
selected Namibian, South African, and Zimbabwean Universities.
Aim of the study:
The study seeks to explore how Higher Education
Institutions (HEI) in the Southern African Development Community (SADC)
implement disability policies to accommodate differently-abled students (DAS),
conventionally known as students with disabilities.
Ethical Clearance for this study has been granted
by UKZN as per Protocol Reference number HSSREC/00004799/2022 as
attached to this email. This study is supervised by Professor S. Mutereko and
Co-supervised by Professor F.A. Ruffin in the School of Management, Information
Technology, and Governance at the UKZN, Westville Campus.
Participation
in this study involves:
-The completion
of a 16-minute questionnaire
-Semi-structured
interview that will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes
