CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: 2023 UNITED STATES-SOUTH-AFRICA RACIAL JUSTICE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME

The United States-South Africa Racial Justice Fellowship programme, funded by the U.S. government and hosted by the School of Education, University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and Teachers College (TC), Columbia University, New York City, invites interested masters and doctoral students to apply for a nine-month fellowship.

  • The programme seeks to drive and highlight productive ways of engaging with issues of race and racial justice through higher education institutions in both countries.
  • This program will host 24 masters and doctoral students (12 from South Africa and 12 from the United States).
  • The programme comprises 4 hours of online monthly engagements and a two-weeks in-person exchange. The exchange will see fellows spending a week at UKZN in Durban, South Africa and a week at TC in New York City, United States.
  • Fellows will engage through virtual monthly events, including forums for debate, knowledge generation, and skills building.
  • The intention is to support and build a cross-national community of scholars engaged in researching and addressing racial injustice in universities and society in general.

Will I still be able to read my Notices from within my email?

In a manner of speaking yes. However you will not get the entire notice delivered to you in your email, instead you will get a daily digest which will list the subject of the notices, a short summary of each notice and hyperlinks that will take you to that notice on the web.

2. Who has access to notices?


Anybody can access the notice system, however you will not be able to place notices from off-campus.
