Dear Participant,

My name is Ms Varsha Sookraj (Email: sookraj@ukzn.ac.za; Tel: 0834312474); I am a Masters candidate studying at the University of Pretoria. My supervisor is Dr. MJ van Deventer (Email: mvandeve2017@gmail.com).

You are invited to participate in a research project titled, An investigation into initiatives to improve the Return on investment (ROI) of e-Book subscriptions: a case study of the University of KwaZulu-Natal Library. This study aims to help the University of KwaZulu-Natal library understand how e-Books are used by the university community and the challenges experienced. The findings will further help the library address these challenges to optimise the use of their e-Book subscriptions to improve their RIO.

This study has been ethically reviewed and approved by the UKZN Humanities and Social Sciences Research Ethics Committee (HSS/2017/018M) and the University of Pretoria: Research Committee of the Department of Information Science.

Will I still be able to read my Notices from within my email?

In a manner of speaking yes. However you will not get the entire notice delivered to you in your email, instead you will get a daily digest which will list the subject of the notices, a short summary of each notice and hyperlinks that will take you to that notice on the web.

2. Who has access to notices?


Anybody can access the notice system, however you will not be able to place notices from off-campus.
