SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES Post Graduate Programme in Political Science 2025
Political science is the study of
politics and power from domestic, regional, international, and comparative
perspectives. It explores how political systems operate, the distribution and
exercise of power, and the behaviour of political entities, such as
individuals, groups, and institutions. Moreover, it examines the societal,
cultural, and psychological factors that interact to shape the functioning of
government and the political system, and investigates issues such as democracy,
justice, conflict, and power dynamics both domestically and globally.
Admission Requirements:
Honours: Applicants who
possess a minimum credit weighted average of 60% majoring in political science
will be considered for the Honours programme.
Masters: A recognised
Honours degree in Political Science or a cognate discipline, with a minimum credit
weighted average mark of 65%.
PhD: A recognised Masters
degree in Political Science or a cognate discipline, with a minimum average
mark of 65%.
