Dear Student

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) has provided the University Capacity Development Programme (UCDP) funding. A key component of the UCDP is academic staff and student development. In this regard, an important outcome articulated in UKZN’s UCDP Plan is to conduct research capacity-building workshops for Masters and Doctoral students.

The workshops aim to assist Masters and Doctoral students with improving their academic writing skills as well as finalising their research proposals. In this context, you are invited to attend virtual offering of the following workshop series:

  • Introduction to Academic Writing
  • Conceptualising a Research Problem
  • Research Ethics and Plagiarism
  • Writing a Literature Review
  • Distinguishing between Quanitative and Qualitative, Mixed Methods Methodologies
  • Analysis and Interpretation of Data

Please note that this particular call is restricted to Masters and Doctoral students who:

  •     Are registered with the College of Agirculture, Engineering and Science.
  •     Agree to provide the UCDP Office with a draft proposal after 3 months of attending.

Please see the attached flyer for further information and registration link for the workshop.

Kindly email at ucdp@ukzn.ac.za for any further assistance.

Regards,

UCDP Office
