TUTORS-TEACHING ASSISTANTS

(THREE MONTHS, SEMESTER 1, 2022)

 

REFERENCE NO.: TUTSEM 01/2022

 

The School of Social Sciences consists of four clusters: Culture; Society & Social Change; Development; and International & Public Affairs. Selected candidates are expected to assist students with exam preparation and/ or where relevant support for online continuous assessment in their respective modules. In consideration of the implications of the COVID-19 on teaching and learning, the successful candidates are also expected to prepare and facilitate both online or virtual tutorials and in person tutorials. The successful candidate will also provide support for formative and continuous assessments (assignments and tests) in modules offered in the first semester; organise where applicable either face-to-face, or virtual and online meetings and feedback sessions with students; undertake online or in person consultations with students; and where relevant maintain attendance registers in one or more of the following academic programmes: Anthropology; Culture, Heritage and Tourism; Political Science and International Relations; Sociology; History, Economic History; Gender Studies; Industrial Organisation and Labour Studies

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

·        Relevant Honours Degree (completed)

·        Registered for Masters or PhD within the School of Social Sciences

·        Knowledge in subject area

·        Excellent academic record

 

The appointment is for a three month fixed term contract.  No other benefits attached to this appointment.  Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. The closing date for receipt of applications is 30 January 2022.
