Print

Dear Staff

The University Capacity Development Programme (UCDP), through funding provided by the  Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), would like to invite qualifying staff to submit an application for financial support to complete a first Masters or PhD degree.

In this context you are invited to complete the attached application form to request available UCDP funding, for the 2022 financial year, for financial support directly linked to the completion of your degree. The awards made will take effect from written date of acceptance of an award to a staff member to end November 2022 and the funds must be used by the end of November 2022. The only deviation from this is when staff appointments (i.e. for teaching relief, research assistants) have been made, these may run through to end December 2022.

1.   Please check with the Central UCDP Office, Precious Ndwalane at NdwalaneP@ukzn.ac.za for categories of expenses not covered in the application form - prior to applying for such.

2.   The fully completed application should be sent to the Central UCDP Office by close of business no later than Friday, 28 January 2022. The e-mail address to use is ucdp_credentialing@ukzn.ac.za and only submissions addressed to this mailbox will be considered.

3.   All signatures must be obtained and all supporting documentation must be submitted with the application, incomplete applications will not be considered.

Regards,

Mrs. Precious Ndwalane
