The following postdoctoral fellowship opportunity is available to contribute research assistance in the field of Quantum Technology:

 

Research area: Quantum Verification and Validation and Quantum Metrology using photons. The applicant is required to conduct experimental work, and to assist research with quantum communication using non-linear optics.

 

The successful applicant will be expected to engage in full-time postdoctoral studies in the research group of Prof Konrad and set up experiments at the National Metrology Institute of South Africa (NMISA) in Pretoria.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant PhD degree in Physics;
  • Experience with quantum communication /quantum memory experiments , witnessed by publications in these fields.  
  • Experience with setting up BiBO photon sources.
  • Documented knowledge of the design of quantum network nodes.
