Collective Bargaining Rights at UKZN for EUSA, NEHAWU, NTEU and SALIPSWU
Dear UKZN Staff member
We are overjoyed by the CCMA ruling on the 09 April 2019 which advised that the University has nothing to prevents itself to conclude a collective and a recognition agreement with the joint union afore-mentioned. This means we're back to the negotiating table and we shall make our presence felt and worth it. The selling out of workers to be abused by private companies for cash behind closed doors end here and now. The anti-transformation silent agenda peddled by sinister forces within the university will also die with selling out henceforth. The joint unions are already at the table for the insourced staff whom they represent the majority.
The wind of change are blowing and joining one of the progressive four unions to get your interests best represented is the right thing to do.
We call upon all university staff members to join in their numbers by joining of one of the joint unions (EUSA, NTEU, SALIPSWU and NEHAWU) to take the plight of all to newer heights where abuse, victimisation, underpayment, bullying and other divisive measures will be the things of the past. These unions have a plan to bring change without monopolizing the employee relations space. We believe that in diversity we shall thrive more than in a monopolistic kind strategy that proved now no progress rather benefiting a clique claiming to be lifetime unionists.
This sincere call by the four unions working jointly for the benefit of our colleagues and the University is noble and uniting all as Ukzn family. This is a true milestone indeed to have four unions putting aside individual interests for the benefit of all Ukzn staff members.
We humble ourselves as your servants and representatives to sign up with one of us in shaping a stronger mandate to bargain with the University. There shall be joint activities where the four unions will invite University staff members to unveil our unity plan.
Join EUSA or NEHAWU or NTEU or SALIPSWU now and be part of the change you always want to be in your work environment.
