Print

Dear Students and Staff

RMS together with ICS will be issuing out NEW Student Cards to ALL Edgewood students. This forms part of a University-Wide project to replace the current Access Control System with an efficient, modern system that caters to the access control requirements of the University. This includes better security for Students and Staff and safer campuses.

All Edgewood students are hereby requested to have their UKZN Student Cards replaced at the following venue:

Venue: Dining Hall, Seminar Room 2

Campus: Edgewood

Dates: Monday 21 August 2017– Friday 25 August 2017

Times: 08h30 to 16h00

You will be required to present your old card, as it is required to re-program the new card. A new picture of you will be taken and your biometric details captured.

First Year students that are on the Edgewood campus today (Friday 18 August), can come in to the above venue and get their cards changed.

NB: After Friday, 25 August, students who have not yet replaced their cards can do so at the Edgewood ID Card Office. To avoid unnecessary inconvenience, students are urged to get their cards changed as soon as possible, as the old cards will stop functioning in the near future.

Will I still be able to read my Notices from within my email?

In a manner of speaking yes. However you will not get the entire notice delivered to you in your email, instead you will get a daily digest which will list the subject of the notices, a short summary of each notice and hyperlinks that will take you to that notice on the web.

2. Who has access to notices?

Anybody can access the notice system, however you will not be able to place notices from off-campus.
