Semester Two 2026

 

The Discipline of Drama and Performance Studies in the School of Arts offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in three major streams: Theatre Studies, Dance Studies, and Applied Theatre Studies. All modules involve practical components. 

We invite applications for tutors / demonstrators for the following modules:

DRAM104 Introduction to Performance Studies 1B

DRAM207 Dance and Physical Theatre in Africa and the Diaspora.

DRAM313 Aesthetics and Politics

DRAM315 Production Module

DRAM316 Drama and Performance Studies Elective 3B.

PMB- Directing

HC- Popular participatory theatre

 Scriptwriting

Dance and Choreography

  

Minimum Requirements:

·       An undergraduate degree majoring in Drama and Performance Studies.

·       The candidate should be able to prove a knowledge of Theatre studies.

·       The candidate must be a registered student unless specifically motivated.

REMUNERATION: The remuneration package offered will be dependent on the qualifications of the successful applicant, in line with UKZN remuneration for tutors/demonstrators. Rates of pay will be per university fixed-term rates and official module (Handbook) approved hours for these academic duties.

 

The closing date for receipt of applications is NO LATER THAN twelve noon MONDAY 27 July 2026
