The Discipline of Digital Arts (Pietermaritzburg campus) focuses on digital arts theory and practice at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It includes the following areas of study: animation and moving image studies, digital image making, and new media art.

 

We invite applications for a 5-month ad-hoc post at the lecturer level to teach digital arts practice in graphic design and digital imaging at the 1st year level. The successful candidate should be well-grounded in arts-based theory and prepared to teach theory at the 2nd level of study. The applicant is expected to assume relevant administrative duties in the program.

 

 

Minimum requirements

 

·       A MA or PhD degree in Digital Arts or an equivalent discipline

·       Evidence of teaching experience in digital arts practice at a tertiary level within the areas of graphic design and digital image making.

·       Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
