FINANCIAL CONSULTANT
THREE MONTHS FIXED-TERM CONTRACT (15 HOURS PER MONTH) (GRADE 8)

The Centre for Extended Legal Studies (CELS), being the Self-Funded Teaching Programmes Unit in the 
School of Law, seeks to appoint a suitably qualified applicant as a part-time Financial Consultant 
(15 hours per month) on a three months fixed term contract until 31 August 2026.

The incumbent will be responsible for advising and assisting the Centre’s Director with the 
preparation, management and control of budgets, financial reporting and control of expenditure, and 
generally provide support with the financial management of the Centre and its programmes.

The incumbent must be proficient in English, fully computer literate including MS Excel and MS 
Word, and have excellent communication skills.

The incumbent will report to the Director: CELS.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A relevant three-year degree, majoring in Accounting;
  • Five (5) years’ accounting experience in a large organization, which must comprise experience in financial and management accounting, taxation and auditing requirements, interpreting of cost reports, cash flows, balance sheets, income statements and analyses in compliance with international financial reporting standards;
  • The above experience must also include at least two (2) years' practical experience with the University’s  Financial  Policies  and  Procedures  and  finance  decision flows at a senior/managerial level.

The remuneration will be in accordance with the University's policy on fixed-term
appointments and the hours of work.
