The Songbook sessions joins The KZN Schools Jazz Festival Closing.
As a departure from its regular Monday nighttime slot at the UKZN Centre for Jazz and Popular Music, the last Songbook Session for March is hosted at the Chris Seabrooke Music Centre on Tuesday March 31st, at 8.30pm and forms part of the KZN Schools Jazz festival.
It will close off the 2026 festival in unforgettable style, and audiences are invited to a high-energy Festival Jam Session, a brand-new addition to this year’s programme. The jam session creates a vibrant platform where established professionals and emerging voices intersect, embodying the spirit of mentorship, creativity, and community that defines the KZN Schools Jazz Festival. Featuring Ghanaian pianist, composer Victor Dey Jr., Shaun Johannes, Riley Giandhari with a special guest appearance by vocalist Natalie Rungan. This closing session promises spontaneity, collaboration, and electrifying musical conversation.
The Songbook Sessions Monday night jam session is made possible through the generous funding support of Concerts SA, Festival Enterprise Catalyst, SAMRO, and the National Treasury Jobs Fund.
