SASUF+ Calls for Funding Now Opened
Print

Dear Colleagues,

Two new funding opportunities within SASUF+ are now open, both linked to the upcoming Virtual SASUF AIMday event on 26–27 May. The event will bring together societal actors, organisations, industry representatives, and researchers from both Sweden and South Africa to engage around shared challenges and opportunities. More information is available here: https://www.aimday.se/virtual-event/2026/sasuf-a-virtual-dialogue-for-impact

The two grant opportunities that are open between 17 March – 10 June 2026 are:

→ Local AIMday Grants
Support for researchers at SASUF partner universities in Sweden and South Africa to organise Academic Industry Meeting Days (AIMdays). These events bring together academia, industry, the public sector, and civil society to discuss real-world challenges and explore opportunities for collaboration and impact. The grant is intended to enable SASUF partner universities to host a local AIMday in their own context, with actors relevant to their region and thematic priorities.

More information can be found here: https://www.sasuf.org/local-aimday-grants

→ SASUF–NRF Seed Grants for Academia, Industry, Society Collaboration
Seed funding to support new or strengthened research collaborations between South African and Swedish researchers, helping teams develop joint research ideas and build long-term partnerships. All projects will be supported for a maximum duration of 2 years starting from 1 September 2026.
