The Writing Place for the School of Law assists undergraduate Law students with:

• ·      FIRAC technique

• ·      Analysing case law skills

• ·   Referencing using Law footnote method - please ensure that you have accessed the Law footnote and bibliography guide before your consultation - available on the UKZN Library website.

·      Any other related writing skills the student requires advice on.

Undergraduate students (1^st  – 4^th year) doing modules from the School of Law should email the Writing Place tutor at least 4 days before the due date of the assignment to arrange a Teams meeting during the consultation times listed above. Then have a typed, complete draft of the assignment, the assignment question, course guide and lecture notes ready during the Teams consultation where the Writing Place tutor will assist with recommendations for how the assignment can be improved.
