Dear UKZN Students,

In an era of rapid digital transformation, how we engage online, from AI use to digital privacy, defines our campus community.

 

Research Title: "Navigating Digital Frontiers: Exploring the Role of Values Education in Shaping Ethical and Responsible Digital Citizenship Among University Students".

 

Researcher Details: Dr Lokesh Ramnath Maharajh, School of Education, College of Humanities (Edgewood Campus).

·                  Approval: This research has received Gatekeeper’s approval from the Office of the Registrar and Ethical Clearance.

 

Study Overview: We invite you to participate in this study exploring student perceptions of digital ethics, cyberbullying, misinformation, and the role of values in online spaces. Your insights will inform the development of educational resources and university policies aimed at fostering responsible digital citizenship.

 

Participation & Consent:

·                  Participation is voluntary.

·                  Informed Consent: A consent form is attached to this notice/questionnaire. You are required to read and sign/accept the consent form before proceeding to the survey.

·                  Privacy: All data collected will be treated with strict confidentiality and anonymity. Your identity and email address are protected under the POPI Act and the South African Constitution.

In a manner of speaking yes. However you will not get the entire notice delivered to you in your email, instead you will get a daily digest which will list the subject of the notices, a short summary of each notice and hyperlinks that will take you to that notice on the web.

Anybody can access the notice system, however you will need to login in order to place a notice.
