ACLE101 – Academic learning in English
TUTORS REQUIRED (THREE MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
1st SEMESTER 2026
REFERENCE NUMBER: ACLE101S12026
The discipline of ACLE101 (Pietermaritzburg Campus) requires tutors for the above modules for Semester 1 of 2026. We seek Postgraduate applicants preferably majoring in English, Linguistics and languages. Applicants must be able to commit 100% to the tutoring process in ACLE101 and may be required to assist with marking of tests and assignments
Minimum Requirements:
• A completed undergraduate degree with a major in English, linguistics, Languages and Media studies
• Postgraduate registration at UKZN for Semester 1 2026
The following would be an advantage:
• Previous tutoring experience
• Completion of any postgraduate modules in ENGLISH, LINGUISTICS, LANGUAGES AND MEDIA
• Registered for a Masters or PhD degree
In addition to delivering tutorials, tutors will be required to attend a weekly tutor’s meeting, to be available for consultation with students, to do some marking, and to attend select lectures.
Candidate may be required to facilitate a mock tut as part of the interview process.
Remuneration will be based on the rates as determined by the College of Humanities and are not negotiable.
