GENERAL SALARY INCREASE FOR 2026

Dear Staff

We are pleased to inform you that in accordance with the signed multi-year Collective Agreement on Remuneration Issues, the University will be implementing the general salary increase of five and a half (5,5%) percent for the following employees:

-        all members of the University staff appointed on permanent staff conditions of service  and,

-        fixed term contract staff on the payroll of the University for a period of 12 months or longer.

The salary increase will be paid on Total Cost to Employer (TCE) basis with effect from 1^st January 2026. The increase will be incorporated and aligned to staff members’ current TCE package structure and will be implemented in the January 2026 payroll.

Members of staff whose appointment is funded from external financial resources will only be eligible for the general salary increase once prior written approval is granted by the External Funder.

Basebenzi

Sinentokozo yokunazisa ukuthi ngenxa yesiVumelwano Esihlanganisa Bonke Abasebenzi seminyaka eminingi mayelana nezamaholo, iNyuvesi izoqala ukukhushulwa kwamaholo abasebenzi okujwayelekile okungamaphesenti amahlanu nesigamu (5,5%) kulezi zinhlaka zabasebenzi ezilandelayo:

-        bonke abasebenzi baseNyuvesi abaqashwe ngokugcwele,

-        abasebenzi abaqashwe ngokwezinkontileka ezibanqumela ukuba baholelwe yiNyuvesi isikhathi esiyizinyanga ezili-12 noma ngaphezulu.

Ukukhushulwa kwamaholo kuzokwenziwa ngokohlelo lwe-Total Cost to Employer (TCE) kusukela ngomhla lu-1 kuMasingana wezi-2026. Lokhu kukhushulwa kuzohlanganiswa futhi kuhlelwe ngokwe-TCE yabasebenzi abathintekayo futhi kuzoqala ngemiholo kaMasingana wezi-2026.

Abasebenzi abaholelwa ngezimali zabaxhasi bangaphandle kweNyuvesi bazokhushulelwa amaholo uma sekutholakale imvume kubona labo baxhasi.

Sifisa ukunibonga kakhulu ngokubamba kwenu iqhaza kanye nokuzinikela kwenu okungenamkhawulo eNyuvesi futhi sinifisele unyaka wezi-2026 oyimpumelelo.
