My name is David Thomas, and I am a Doctoral candidate registered for the programme Doctor of Philosophy in Library and Information Science, at the Durban University of Technology.
You are invited to participate in a study which seeks to develop a framework for the adoption of problem-based learning approach, in undergraduate information literacy programmes in institutions of higher learning in South Africa.
The research aims to:
Explore how problem-based learning pedagogy is applied in undergraduate information literacy training programmes, to enhance the competencies of students in selected institutions of higher learning in South Africa.
Research participant criteria:
All librarians involved in teaching / training information literacy skills to undergraduate students.
Study Procedure
If you agree to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete an anonymous online survey that will take approximately 30 minutes.
Participation is voluntary, and your answers will be kept confidential and used solely for research purposes.

This study has been granted Ethics approval from DUT – Ethics Clearance number: IREC 007/25, as well as Gatekeepers permission from UKZN office of the registrar.
