AD HOC LECTURERS

(FIVE MONTHS SEMESTER 2, 2025)

The School of Arts invites applications for ad hoc lecturer positions in the field of Historical Studies.

 

Successful candidates will be expected to deliver lectures in selected modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; prepare and conduct seminars/practical sessions; set and mark tests, assignments and examinations; and undertake consultations with students.

 

Where applicable, ad hoc lecturers may be required to supervise postgraduate (usually honours level) student projects and undertake any other roles that will be assigned by the Cluster Leader in one or more modules offered in the second semester of 2025.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

·        Masters Degree in Historical Studies (PhD will be an advantage)

·        Demonstrate excellent knowledge in subject area (such as a good academic record or relevant publications)

·        Experience and proficiency in classroom technologies such as Moodle applications

·        At least one year’s teaching experience at tertiary level

REMUNERATION: The remuneration offered will be in accordance with UKZN fixed-term rates of pay.
