Acclaimed vocalist Zethe is set to release her much-anticipated debut album, Breathe, on 7 March 2025. The album is a sonic journey of healing, reflection and resilience. The music is rooted in the concept of, "Ikhambi" (music as medicine), providing breathing amidst the chaos we face in our daily lives, reclaiming our humanity, summoning courage, nurturing hope, and finding solace in love and prayer.
To celebrate this momentous release, Zethe and her band will embark on a nationwide tour including a stop in Durban, offering fans an immersive live experience of the album at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Centre for Jazz (26 March) and The Chairman (28 March).
"Durban holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I studied music, where I found my voice. Performing here feels like a homecoming—a chance to share 'Breathe' with the city that helped shape me." says Zethe.
A Dual Celebration: Album Release & Tour
The album explores themes of mental health, healing, and human connection. Tracks like Ukukhanya (There’s light), Uthando (A Love Letter), and the titular Breathe showcase Zethe’s channels her own journey of healing into music that mirrors the struggles and triumphs of the human spirit.
“Releasing Breathe has been a deeply personal and transformative journey,” Zethe shares. “This album is my way of offering comfort and courage to others. We all experience moments where life feels overwhelming, but if we pause, take a breath, and reconnect with ourselves, we can find the strength to keep going. The tour is a chance to share this message in person as we celebrate life, healing, and music together.”
Kicking off as the album is released, Zethe’s tour promises an emotionally rich and immersive live experience, blending her captivating voice, soulful instrumentation, and heartfelt storytelling.
