FIXED TERM APPOINTMENT till DECEMBER 2024

SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING HOWARD COLLEGE CAMPUS

The incumbent will provide technical support to the School by maintaining electronic/computer instruments and repairing failed electronic/computer laboratory equipment in service. S/he must have a good working knowledge of analog electronics and components associated with the development of analog circuitry. The incumbent should also have a good working knowledge of communication equipment. S/he will be responsible for the preparation, sourcing, cataloging, and maintenance of material, components, and equipment for practical classes, undergraduate, postgraduate, and research projects. S/he will provide technical expertise and advice to Staff and Students, and recommend appropriate materials and equipment for project manufacturing. Assist with sourcing quotations for these materials and equipment. Knowledge of programming microcontrollers will be an added advantage.  The incumbent must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

 

The incumbent with also fulfil any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as determined by management with regard to the operational needs of the School.

 

The incumbent will report to the Principal Technician. 

 

Minimum Requirements:

·      Matric plus NTC3/Higher with a relevant Trade Test or a relevant three-year qualification

·      Three (3) years of relevant experience.

·      Experience in MS Office.

·      A valid unendorsed driver’s license.

 

Short-listed candidates will be required to undergo a skills test.
