Renowned South African Jazz saxophonist Mfana Mlambo presents the Mfana Mlambo Quartet – A Fundraising concert for Dr Madala Kunene at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music on Wednesday 17 April 2024 at 17:30

 

 

The master will be joined by fellow friends of Dr Madala Kunene. All proceeds raised from this concert will go to Dr Madala “Bafo” Kunene who is currently experiencing critical health issues and needs some medical attention. The funds raised will assist Dr Madala to have a medical at a private hospital and cut the eight-month queue at the public hospital.

 

 

Mfana Mlambo studied saxophone with FUBA, University of Wits, Royal School of Music, after being the assistant coordinator of the Market Theatre Foundation. He then graduated from the University of Natal (now University of KwaZulu Natal). As a result of Mlambo’s diverse experience as a cultural entrepreneur, he owns a company Sintu production, which does various cultural work.

 

Apart from promoting the careers of distinguished artists such as Sibongile Khumalo, late Dr Busi Mhlongo and Sankomota, Sintu made it possible for the street children of Durban to be part of the Former President Nelson Mandela’s 1996 birthday at Durban City Hall. Join this Master with a live rhythm section
