The study explores the perceived value, attitude, choices, and satisfaction of the permanent staff of KwaZulu-Natal towards the utilization of the UKZN medical scheme. The survey is conducted in the following UKZN campuses: Edgewood, Howard College, Medical School, Pietermaritzburg, and Westville. For a comprehensive analysis, I am collecting both quantitative data (through an online questionnaire via the UKZN notice website to the academic staff) and qualitative data (via interviews with the UKZN medical scheme staff). This approach ensures a balanced study, encompassing both the user's and the provider's perspectives.

This study has received ethical review and approval from the UKZN Humanities and Social Sciences Research Ethics Committee (approval number: HSSREC/00006027/2023).

Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the perceived value, attitude, and satisfaction of the permanent staff of KwaZulu-Natal towards the utilization of the UKZN medical scheme.

Purpose: The purpose of the questionnaire is to understand the degree to which various plans and policies implemented by the UKZN Medical Scheme meet the health and well-being needs of the staff. An information letter and informed consent form are available on the website.
