WENOSA Scholarship Programme 2026

“Accelerating Women into South Africa's Critical Skills Economy”

Applications are now open for the WENOSA Scholarship Programme 2026, a strategic initiative supporting academically talented women who are completing qualifications in fields where female representation remains disproportionately low. Through targeted financial support, WENOSA seeks to remove barriers to graduation while strengthening South Africa's future pipeline of women leaders, innovators, researchers, and professionals.

Scholarship Opportunity

• 10 Undergraduate Scholarships (Final Year)

• 15 Postgraduate Scholarships (Final Year Honours, Master's or Doctoral)

• Up to R50,000 per successful applicant

• Total Programme Value: Up to R1.25 million

Engineering | Architecture | Information Technology | Computer Science | Data Science | Artificial Intelligence | Mathematics | Statistics | Physical & Environmental Sciences | Accounting | Chartered Accountancy | Economics | Financial Sciences | Agriculture | Mining | Energy | Logistics | Research & Innovation 

 

Eligibility Criteria Applicants must:

• Be South African citizens.

• Identify as female.

• Be enrolled at a recognised South African public university.

• Be in the final year of study during the 2026 academic year.

• Have achieved and maintained a minimum aggregate of 65%.

• Demonstrate financial need and leadership potential. 

 

Scholarship Support

Funding may only be applied towards outstanding tuition fees.

All scholarship funding will be paid directly to universities.

No funds will be transferred directly to beneficiaries.

Successful scholars must maintain a minimum average of 65% and pass all registered modules.

Where outstanding fees are below the maximum scholarship allocation, the remaining balance will be reallocated to support another eligible scholar.

Where fees exceed R50,000, scholars must provide proof of additional funding to cover the remaining balance and ensure successful completion of their studies.

Open: 1 August 2026

Applications Close: 31 August 2026 at 23h59

Applications must be submitted through the official WENOSA application platform.

Only completed applications received through the official application link will be considered. Late applications will not be accepted.

 

Successful applicants will be notified by 01 October 2026.
