You are invited to participate in an important institutional survey being conducted as part of the MAGNETISE (Mainstreaming Gender Equality in Sub-Saharan African Academia) Erasmus+ project.

The purpose of this survey is to establish a baseline understanding of institutional awareness, experiences, and priorities related to gender equality within higher education. The findings will contribute to the development of evidence-based institutional strategies and interventions aimed at advancing gender equality and inclusion at UKZN and across partner institutions.

Why Your Participation Matters

Your participation will help to:

• Identify key gender equality challenges and opportunities within the university environment.
• Inform the thematic focus of future institutional workshops and capacity-building activities.
• Support the development of a tailored Gender Equality Plan (GEP) for sustainable institutional change.
• Contribute to the creation of a network of stakeholders committed to promoting gender equality in higher education.

Who Can Participate?

All academic, administrative, professional support, and research staff members at UKZN are invited to participate.

Voluntary Participation

Participation is entirely voluntary. You may choose not to participate or withdraw at any point before submitting your responses without any penalty.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

All information collected will be treated confidentially and processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and ethical research standards. Responses will be analysed in aggregate form and no individual participant will be identified in any reports or publications.

Estimated Time

The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
