This an exciting funding opportunity for early stage researchers in social sciences, politics and development-related fields.

Applications are now open for 15 PhD positions for Early Stage Researchers in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network project, ADAPTED, funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. Applications are being accepted until 31 March 2021.

 

Eradicating Poverty: Pathways towards Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals

 

The ADAPTED research and training programme:
The overarching aim of the EJD ADAPTED programme is to deliver high-level training with intersectoral relevance in

  • validating pathways towards poverty eradication,
  • analysing interactions between poverty reduction and other policy areas
  • and optimising the impact of poverty reduction policies

to high achieving early stage researchers (ESRs) to bridge the existing knowledge gap in understanding poverty dynamics and by equipping the ESRs with a unique skills portfolio that is equally attractive for research institutions, development organisations and internationally active firms.

 

The 15 PhD positions are to be take up over 36 months at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany (coordinator), Erasmus University Rotterdam and Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Boğaziçi University, Turkey, and Centre National de Recherche Scientifique in partnership with Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, France.

 

Researchers from six cooperating African partner universities, including the University of the Western Cape and the University of Cape Town (South Africa), Bahir Dar University (Ethiopia), University of Development Studies (Ghana), Moi University (Kenya), and University of Douala (Cameroon), will supervise ESRs during field work, provide them with access to local actors and to locally available data sets and link them to the non-academic sector in the fieldwork countries.

 

The deadline for applications for PhD positions in the ADAPTED programme is 31 March 2021.

In a manner of speaking yes. However you will not get the entire notice delivered to you in your email, instead you will get a daily digest which will list the subject of the notices, a short summary of each notice and hyperlinks that will take you to that notice on the web.

Anybody can access the notice system, however you will not be able to place notices from off-campus.
