 Call for Peer Mentors: School of Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Science and School of Life Sciences

2020 Semester 1

Peer mentorship programme is a support programme that provide academic and social guidance to students in a well-structured environment in order to help students better adapt to the higher education environment. A peer mentor will serve as a caring guide, a wise advisor and a trusted friend during the journey towards achieving academic success. We are looking for 3rd year and Honours students from the relevant schools, who are vibrant, motivated and have a passion to help other students, for the position of peer mentors.

Requirements:

  · Should be a registered student at least in the first semester of 2020           academic year in the relevant school (School of Mathematics, Statistics &   Computer Science/School of Life Sciences).

·       · Must be a role model, both academically and socially.

·       · Must be a good listener, kind and empathetic.

·       · Must be confident and willing to assist others and have a good work ethic.

·       · Must have at least 2 - 3h to spare during the week.

If interested, please complete the attached application form and email it to the respective Academic Development Officers on or before Monday, 27th Jan 2020.

Will I still be able to read my Notices from within my email?

In a manner of speaking yes. However you will not get the entire notice delivered to you in your email, instead you will get a daily digest which will list the subject of the notices, a short summary of each notice and hyperlinks that will take you to that notice on the web.

2. Who has access to notices?


Anybody can access the notice system, however you will not be able to place notices from off-campus.
