DATA CAPUTER/RESEARCH 1x POST

(GRADE 11)

SCHOOL OF CLINICAL & CHILD HEALTH

NELSON MANDELA SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

 

The Pediatrics department is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the position of Data Capturer for the Adolescents Retention and Transition Project. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated, well-organized individual with attention to detail. Applicants are expected to be self-motivated, able to multi-task, able to work under pressure, and able to pay attention to detail when working with research data. Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team is essential.  The candidate will primarily be based at Med school Paeds department and (Vusithemba Clinic) Prince Mshiyeni Hospital, Umlazi.

 

Minimum Requirements:

·       Senior Certificate

·       One year relevant qualification

·       At least two years data capturing experience in the research field

·       Computer Literacy in Microsoft Office

·       Experience with Data capturing

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Recruitment, assenting and enrollment of study participants

·       Administer Survey to study participants

·       Manual Data Capture from Charts

·       Review case report form (CRF) data for completeness, accuracy and consistency

·       Apply corrections to CRFs within access parameters

·       Generate/resolve data queries

·       Liaise with relevant staff regarding queries generated.

·       Certificate in IT/Databases

·       Working knowledge of medical terminology

·       GCP compliance will be an added advantage

·       Participant informed consent process

·       Familiarity with isiZulu

·       Verbal and written communication skills

·       Analytical Ability

·       Attention to Detail

·       Teamwork

·       Planning and Organizing
