Internship Programme

 4 x Language Interns

The University Language Planning and Development Office (ULPDO) provides an excellent learning environment for language interns. In addition to the hands on nature of the duties that are assumed by the language interns, the ULPDO internship programme provides interns with exposure to the structures and the role players in the language services sector at a provincial, national and international level. The language interns will be assigned a supervisor who will be responsible for their training and skills development.

Skills/ Competencies,

-          Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

-          Must have a working knowledge of computer application software

-          Must be flexible and be able to work under pressure

-          Must be a team player as well as be able to work independently

-          Must have good interpersonal skills

-          Must have a high level of professionalism

To apply you must:

1.      1. Be an isiZulu mother tongue speaker.

2.      2. Be currently enrolled for Masters in Linguistics/African Languages.

3.      3. Have a background in one/more of the following:

   - Corpus Linguistics

   - Language planning and/or development,

   - Lexicography,

   - Translation and/or interpreting,

   - IsiZulu terminology development.

4.    4. Send an application letter and a detailed CV to ngubanen2@ukzn.ac.za. Email title: 2019 Internship.

5.   5. You must clearly state your language/linguistics background, as stated in number 3 above, in your cover letter.

In a manner of speaking yes. However you will not get the entire notice delivered to you in your email, instead you will get a daily digest which will list the subject of the notices, a short summary of each notice and hyperlinks that will take you to that notice on the web.

2. Who has access to notices?


Anybody can access the notice system, however you will not be able to place notices from off-campus.
