BSC Data Science Program: Offered in 2019 at UKZN!

 

The School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science is proud to announce the introduction of a BSc degree in Data Science, starting in 2019.

 

Statistics and computer science skills are in growing demand for a data science career, nationally and internationally. A double major in computer science and statistics aims at the heart of data science.

This new programme, BSc (Data Science), aims to deliver graduates that have the data analytics skills relevant to the needs of government, business and industry in the modern era.

Students are encouraged to consult the school, or to get further information during the registration process of 2019.

This newly structured BSc programme in Data Science, is to form the basic building block for higher- level qualifications in Data Science to follow. Accordingly, a BSC Data Science HONOURS Program will be offered at UKZN in 2020, with the Statistics Honours and Computer Science Honours programs incorporating many new aspects in 2019, in anticipation thereof.

 

Plans are at an advanced stage for a Masters Programme in Data Science to be offered soon in the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science.
