PROGRAMME MANAGER (3 POSTS)

(ONE YEAR FIXED-TERM CONTRACT, PART-TIME)

The Centre for Extended Legal Studies in the School of Law seeks to appoint suitably qualified applicants on one-year fixed-term contracts to manage the following self-funded teaching programmes, on a part-time basis:

 

·    The Part-time LLB Programme (80 hrs per month) (Ref: SFTP03/2018/LLB);

·   The Postgraduate Diploma in Forensic Investigation & Criminal Justice (30 hrs per month) (Ref: SFTP03/2018/FICJ); and

· The Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Relations (30 hrs per month) (Ref: SFTP03/2018/IR). 

Together with the Centre’s Director, the incumbents will be responsible for the management of their respective programmes, including the evaluation of applications and selection of students, organising and overseeing registration, attending to requests for exemption and other concessions, dealing with student queries and complaints, compiling lecture timetables, securing suitable lecturers and lecture venues, overseeing the delivery of the programme, arranging lecturer evaluations, ERS checking, academic monitoring, counselling and term decisions, ensuring compliance with the applicable rules, policies and procedures and providing information for budgetary and reporting purposes. S/he will represent his/her programme at academic staff meetings in the School of Law.    

The incumbents must have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and a sound knowledge of the rules, policies and procedures applicable to the programme.

 

The incumbents will report to the Centre’s Director, on the Howard College Campus.

 

Minimum requirements:

1.    An LLM or equivalent Master’s degree;

2.    A minimum of five years’ teaching experience at University level;

3.  A minimum of one year’s experience in academic programme management and student administration within the School of Law.

 

Advantages:

Expertise and/or practical experience in the discipline of the programme.

 

 

 

The appointments will be effective from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019. The remuneration will be in accordance with the University’s fixed-term appointment rates and the hours of work.
