Unsettling Space: art events on PMB campus
On Thursday 18 October, the Centre for Visual Arts with Drama & Performance Studies will present two site specific works to the UKZN community. Please join us!
10am New Arts Building, first floor:
NgqondoNgqondo: A walk in their Passage (13 minutes) This site-specific performance piece by Pumelela ‘Push’ Nqelenga grapples with the complexities of how we come to know and access knowledge though spirituality and performance in the academy.
12pm – 1pm Installation in the space between the DSLT, CAES Admin building, near OMB:
Fine Arts students will construct an art installation during this time. Any students may participate, and all art materials will be provided. The process will be filmed and live streamed.
These works are supported by a grant from the Andrew Mellon Foundation Supra-institutional Project on the Decolonial Turn (Unsettling paradigms).
