DATA ANALYST 1-YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT

(PEROMNES GRADE 07)

Institutional Intelligence (II) is a section within ICS.  II is responsible for the generation of data and information to support the planning and decision-making processes of the University.  

The role of the Data Analyst is to:

• Extract, analyse and report management information.
• Support the institutional planning & monitoring processes.
• Undertake statistical analysis and preparing formal reports for Executive and Management.

The incumbent will report to the II Manager.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

• Matric with mathematics
• Relevant 3-year qualification (maths, stats, information systems or other relevant majors) or postgraduate qualification with evidence of a data analytics based research project/thesis.
• At least 3 years’ experience in Management Information or Institutional Planning, in a large organisation.
• Knowledge of university structures and procedures.

ADVANTAGES:

• Experience in the higher education sector in the area of management information or planning.
• Knowledge of Higher Education reporting systems.

Short-listed candidates may be required to undertake a skills test.

Appointment to this post will be on the January 2012 Conditions of Service.  Remuneration is based on the University’s proposed rates for fixed-term contracts.
