The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music is proud to present the Brass showcase and UKZN Big Band showcase on Wednesday 16 August 2016 at 18:00.

 

The UKZN Big band is directed by Burton Naidoo. The members are Riley Giandhari (drums), Micale Madurai (bass), Nick Pitman (Guitar), Jaedon Daniel (Piano/keys), Mlungisi  Goge  (Piano/keys), Phuti Mofokeng (Trumpet), Sinalo  Zulu (Trumpet), Kgethi Nkotsi (Trombone), Siyalo Zulu (Trombone), Pumlani Mtiti (Tenor Sax), Tseleng Mokhatla  (tenor Sax), Simone van Niekerk (Alto sax), Nwabisa Kheswa (Alto sax), Nosihe Zulu (Vocals), Nombuso Ratsha (Vocals).

 

The UKZN Big Band 2017 repertoire focuses on House Music. House Music is a form of electronic music that has taken the world by storm since the 1980s. Created by DJ'S for the growing party culture House Music has evolved into a worldwide phenomenon loved by the youth and the youthful at heart. It is characterised by it's 'four to the floor', groove and minimalistic harmonic and melodic sequences.

 

The UKZN Big Band House Performance focuses more on African House Music such as Micasa, Davido and Black Coffee. The repertoire features arrangements by UKZN Students Pumlani Mtiti, Riley Giandhari, and Sinalo Zulu.

The performance promises to get you dancing....

Will I still be able to read my Notices from within my email?

In a manner of speaking yes. However you will not get the entire notice delivered to you in your email, instead you will get a daily digest which will list the subject of the notices, a short summary of each notice and hyperlinks that will take you to that notice on the web.

2. Who has access to notices?


Anybody can access the notice system, however you will not be able to place notices from off-campus.
