AD-HOC LECTURER (MICR306: ADVANCED APPLICATIONS OF FUNGI AND VIRUSES)

SCHOOL OF LIFE SCIENCES

WESTVILLE CAMPUS

REFERENCE NO.: SLS 18/2017

 The incumbent will be expected to administer and teach the third year MICR306 Advanced Applications of Fungi and Viruses, which introduces the advanced aspects and applications of fungi and viruses relevant to microbial biotechnology (including: Environmental factors in growth & reproduction of viruses; Viral ecology; Viral genetics: mechanisms of variability. Applied virology, Viral diseases and their biological control strategies) to third year life sciences students. A strong background in virology is essential.

 The incumbent will report to the Academic Leader: Biotechnology

 Minimum Requirements:

·       Masters degree in Microbiology

·       Experience in teaching at the tertiary level

 

The remuneration will be at the University standard rates of pay.
