The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music is proud to presents Being Woman by Titi Luzipo on Wednesday 02 August 2017 at 18:00.

Titi has become a household name in the jazz circles of the country. She studied Bachelor of Music, majoring in Jazz Performance at the University of Cape Town. She also did a course in Performing Arts at the University of the Western Cape.

By the tender age of 21, Titi had already shared the stage and worked closely with local and international music stars including Feya Faku, McCoy Mrubata, Gloria Bosman, Judith Sephuma, Zonke, Caiphus Semenya, Loyiso Bala, Ringo Madlingozi and George Benson.

The importance of women in society has become a foreign understanding. The role women play in society should be celebrated more than it currently is. With the recent killings of women in the country, it is only befitting to heal those who have been affected by this terrible ordeal through song and intricate melodies.  Being Woman celebrates the art and power of a woman.

The pain endured yet the joy it brings. Most people refer to people as human beings, some say women are women beings.  We need to start thinking what it actually means to BE A WOMAN.

One of her recent achievements was recently completed a successful tour in Germany and Switzerland with South Africa’s greatest a capella bands – Africappella. Titi is now focused on her 1st debut album which will be released in 2017.

Please join Being Woman by Titi Luzipo (voice), joined by her band Lungelo Ngcobo (piano) Dalisu Ndlazi (bass), Sbu Zondi (drums) Phumlani Mtiti (saxophone) at The Centre for Jazz and Popular music (CJPM), Level 2, Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus on Wednesday 02 August 2017 at 18:00.
