2014 Falling Walls Lab
Print

For the 3rd year running, A.T. Kearney and the Falling Walls Foundation will host the Falling Walls Lab on the 12th of September 2014.

The Falling Walls Lab is an exciting event that provides a platform for young researchers, academics, entrepreneurs and young professionals to share their breakthrough ideas about how society can address its more complex challenges. In 3 minute speeches, twenty young adults will seek to convince a high profile jury of the urgency, power and feasibility of their breakthrough - the winner will then compete in the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin.

In 2013, John Woodland (student at the University of Cape Town), was the winner of the South African Lab and went on to present his idea among Nobel Laureates, business leaders and top academics in Berlin.

We are looking for breakthrough ideas in all sectors, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, computer science, economics, sociology, art, biotechnology and sustainability. In addition to presenting, candidates will have the opportunity to network with investors, business leaders and leading business development organizations.

Please could you advise whether you could help to extend the call for applications via email or online to students within UKZN?

For your reference, attached is the 2014 Falling Walls Lab poster.

The application deadline is on the 15th of August 2014.
