The KwaZulu-Natal Research Institute for TB-HIV (K-RITH) is a groundbreaking collaboration between the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.
Overview of the position:
The Accountant, under limited supervision, is responsible for moderately complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements in K-RITH. Reports financial results on a monthly basis to management to enable appraisal of actual performance against target/s.
Minimum qualifications:
1. BComm Accounting Degree
Experience required:
1. Min 4-5 years’ experience at Accountant level
2. Strong problem solving experience is essential
3. SAP experience
4. High level of computer literacy
Knowledge required:
1. Relevant South African legislation
2. Relevant South African good business governance and accounting regulations and knowledge on how to best implement these
Remuneration:
The remuneration package for this position is market related and will depend on the qualifications, experience, responsibility and previous earnings of the successful candidate.
