This is a 5-month contract lecturing post in the Centre for Visual Arts of the School of Arts, University of KwaZulu-Natal.
The post entails teaching scheduled lectures for undergraduate art students registered for Fine Arts modules at the UKZN Centre for Visual Art, Pietermaritzburg Campus. Current undergraduate teaching includes drawing, studio work in various media, with projects, themes, and theory related to contemporary art practices in South Africa. The successful applicant will be able to teach practical, studio-based projects which integrate theory and relevant art history content with the practical aspects of the projects.
Minimum Requirements:
A Master’s degree in Fine Art
Evidence of successful teaching in visual arts practice
Evidence of knowledge, experience and practical competency in basic drawing and painting methods, and contemporary approaches to artmaking.
The ability and requisite theoretical knowledge to teach art history, and art theory as it relates to contemporary artistic approaches.

REMUNERATION: The remuneration offered will be in accordance with UKZN fixed-term rates of pay.
