Supplemental Instruction (SI) Programme

 

Call for SI leaders – Engineering, Engineering service courses and AEES modules (HC)

The Supplemental Instruction (SI) programme is an academic support programme that aid students to study effectively through peer-assisted and well-structured study sessions.  We are following a hybrid SI model of face-to-face (70%) and online (30%) via Zoom and MS Teams.  We are looking for students who are vibrant, motivated and have passion to help other students for the position of SI leaders.

Applications for SI leader positions for Engineering and Engineering service courses at Howard College are now open. 

Minimum Requirements:

·        Must be in 3rd year of study or above and on ‘good academic standing’.

·        Should be a registered student in the first semester of 2026.

·        Must have achieved at least 60% (first attempt) in the module you want to be SI leader.

·        Must be confident, and willing to help others and have a good work ethic.

·        Must be in Durban to conduct face-to-face SI sessions (70%)

·        Must have sufficient data and a device to conduct online SI sessions (30%).

*Please note, payment is based on University Student rates.

Will I still be able to read my Notices from within my email?

In a manner of speaking yes. However you will not get the entire notice delivered to you in your email, instead you will get a daily digest which will list the subject of the notices, a short summary of each notice and hyperlinks that will take you to that notice on the web.

2. Who has access to notices?


Anybody can access the notice system, however you will need to login in order to place a notice.
