Social Policy Programme 2022

The School of Social Sciences invites applications from those who are in possession of a honours degree from a recognised tertiary institution for the masters by coursework programme in Social Policy in 2022.  Applicants who possess a credit weighted average of above 60 percent for their honours degrees will be considered.  Those who possess a strong four year (honours) degree may be considered for the masters by research programme.  Those who do not possess a formal tertiary qualification but who have demonstrable work experience may also qualify for admission to the programme.  A PhD programme is also available for those who already possess a masters degree.

The modules which comprise the coursework component of the masters programme are available for non-degree purposes.  These are:  Governance and Public Participation (SOCP 802); The Political Economy of Basic Service Provision (SOCP 809); South African Economic Issues (SOCP 811).  They can be taken as electives for other masters programmes.
