Social Policy Programme 2022
The School of Social Sciences invites applications from
those who are in possession of a honours degree from a recognised tertiary
institution for the masters by coursework programme in Social Policy in 2022. Applicants who possess a credit weighted
average of above 60 percent for their honours degrees will be considered. Those who possess a strong four year
(honours) degree may be considered for the masters by research programme. Those who do not possess a formal tertiary
qualification but who have demonstrable work experience may also qualify for
admission to the programme. A PhD
programme is also available for those who already possess a masters degree.
The modules which comprise the coursework component of
the masters programme are available for non-degree purposes. These are:
Governance and Public Participation (SOCP 802); The Political Economy of
Basic Service Provision (SOCP 809); South African Economic Issues (SOCP
811). They can be taken as electives for
other masters programmes.
