Bobbi
Bear aims to collaborate with and assist the criminal justice system in ensuring
the rights and safety of the child victim of sexual abuse. The organization assesses the HIV/AIDS risk of
a child victim of sexual abuse at point-of-rescue, to intervene and to counsel
appropriately. They apply therapeutic methods with the use of a teddy bear
named Bobbi Bear, to obtain forensic facts and evidence to assist the criminal
justice process, within the best interests of the child. Part of their aim is to
empower and train local communities to collaborate with the criminal justice
system. This training ensures the rights and safety of children. Bobbie Bear
also assigns and trains Child Safety Officers locally, as prototypes for
national expansion, and possible inclusion into the criminal justice system.
