Dear Colleagues,
In line with the strategic goal of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) to foster international partnerships and research collaboration, I am pleased to inform you that we have recently renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UKZN and Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences (JAAS), China.
In strengthening the ongoing fruitful research collaboration between JAAS and our School/College, I am delighted to inform you that we have now reached a final agreement on Joint Postdoctoral programme, which will be fully funded by JAAS for 2 years (annual salary of RMB 120,000), on collaborative projects between researchers at UKZN and JAAS. The Postdoctoral candidates should: 1. Be under 35 years of age; 2. Have obtained the doctoral degree within the past 3-4 years; and 3. Of any nationality.
Successful postdoctoral candidates will be expected to spend one uninterrupted year at JAAS for necessary procedures related to their appointment. However, the Postdocs will be able to apply for work visa and be issued a residence permit for their stay, which allows multiple entries to China. Therefore, they will be able to travel in and out of China (if necessary), as long as their residence permit is valid. For the time in-between, the Postdocs can be based at UKZN or JAAS depending on the nature of the project and the agreement between supervisors on the project. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be provided with free apartment by JAAS during their stay in China.
Please find attached the advert with the available thirty (30) research topics in this phase and a brief overview of the different projects for your necessary information. Kindly circulate widely and encourage interested candidates to apply.
Kind regards.
