Research Assistant for Black Women in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Project

Two Research Assistant positions are available for a research project investigating the experiences of black women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics disciplines.  This project is a joint initiative of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, University of Johannesburg and University of Cape Town initiative.  The research assistant will be required to conduct interviews, focus groups and transcribe the data.  The successful candidates will report to Dr. Zamambo Mkhize. 

This term is for one year and it depends on the performance of the research assistants if they will be considered for the second year and additional projects.

Minimum requirements:

·       Masters in Social Science, Health Science, Engineering, Mathematics & Science

·       3 years relevant work experience in interdisciplinary research.

·       Experience in the collection of both qualitative and quantitative data

·       Ability to deploy computer packages in the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data

·       Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams.

 

Advantages:

If currently pursuing a PhD in STEM fields.
