CHS Scholarship Opportunity: 2nd Annual AFREhealth Symposium 6 - 8 August 2018

 

The UKZN DRILL (Developing Research, Innovation, Localisation and Leadership in South Africa) Programme is hosting the 2nd AFREhealth Symposium from 5th – 8th August 2018, at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC), Durban, South Africa. The College of Health Sciences is offering ten (10) scholarships to UKZN students who wish to present their research.   The scholarship will cover the AFREhealth symposium registration fees which includes the pre-conference workshops on 5th August, entry to the symposium from 6th – 8th August 2018 and entry to the social events (welcome cocktail reception on 6th August and the Gala dinner on 7th August 2018).

 

The theme for the Symposium is: “Towards Achieving Universal Health Coverage in Africa - Creating Synergies and Capacity through Education, Research and Quality Health Services”.

 

Abstracts can be submitted in the following sub-themes:

  1. Training Health Professionals for Universal Health Coverage
  2. Building Health Research Capacity in Africa for UHC
  3. Achieving the SDGs and the 90-90-90 targets for HIV/AIDS
  4. Financing health care in Africa
  5. North-South & South-South partnerships for health system development (posters)

AFREhealth is an African-designed and African Owned initiative that seeks to partner African institutions and other stakeholders in building capacity in education, research and quality health care. AFREhealth recognizes that complex health challenges cannot be solved by one professional alone but rather requires inter-professional approaches to education and research for effective service delivery and health improvements.
