The Bass Showcase on Wednesday 30 May 2018 at 18h00 at Jazzcentre
The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music is proud to present the bass showcase on 30 May at 18:00.
This show will feature the Jazz bass students from
the foundation programme, as well as first, second and third year
students of the School of Arts (Music) programme.
They will be presenting original works by the
participants and well as well-loved standards and covers. The
participants for the evening include Charles Mdakane, Solomon Riba,
Freeman Gumede who will play Au Privave with Charlie Parker's
transcription No.1", and a composition. Giyani Shangase, Blessing Thwala
and more.
This concert will be the second to last in a series of instrumental showcases that ran over the course of the year.
Join us at The Centre for Jazz and Popular music
(CJPM), Level 2, Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus on at
18:00 for “A Bass Showcase” on Wednesday 30 May 2018. Doors open at
17.30pm show starts at 18:00 R80 for general admission // R50 pensioners
