The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music is proud to present the bass showcase on 30 May at 18:00.
This show will feature the Jazz bass students from the foundation programme, as well as first, second and third year students of the School of Arts (Music) programme.
They will be presenting original works by the participants and well as well-loved standards and covers. The participants for the evening include Charles Mdakane, Solomon Riba, Freeman Gumede who will play Au Privave with Charlie Parker's transcription No.1", and a composition. Giyani Shangase, Blessing Thwala and more.
This concert will be the second to last in a series of instrumental showcases that ran over the course of the year.
